On behalf of everyone at California’s Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program (DDTP), we invite you to join us in beautiful Long Beach, California for the 2009 NASRA Conference. This year’s conference will be held at the stunning Long Beach Renaissance Hotel, September 8 – 11, 2009. With a wealth of culture, entertainment, music, shopping, history, and food within walking distance of downtown Long Beach, you will have plenty of opportunities to experience all this wonderful city has to offer. While it may be chilly and raining across most of the country, it will be sunny and warm in Long Beach - you can go swimming, surfing, or even sunbathe in the warm California sun. Want to see more? Consider extending your stay and taking the short drive to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm or Universal Studios.
The theme of the 2009 NASRA Conference is “Expanding the Possibilities”. Here’s just one of the things we will be focusing on at NASRA: The FCC has ordered ten-digit numbering to be in place for Internet-based TRS by June 30, 2009. This brings about many questions. How do I register? Do I need new equipment? Can relay users use only one provider to make calls? At NASRA we will be addressing the What? Why? and How? to help bring awareness of the future impact this will have on state programs regarding Internet-based TRS.
In addition, this is the 15th anniversary of NASRA and there are many exciting and historical events prepared for the 2009 conference. Plan to attend all three days of a magnificent program which includes evolving technologies and features of TRS. So don’t delay, save money and book today.
Please look over our tentative agenda and start making your plans to join us in September.
To book your reservation you may call the hotel directly on 562-437-5900 and mention you are with NASRA or you make your reservation on line.
The NASRA conference rate is $128 per night (plus $19.27 tax), which is the government per diem rate.
Please make your reservation no later than Tuesday, August 11, 2009.
